Tadeo

I was going to write something about photographing Tadeo the galgo last weekend, but words are failing me right now; I have nothing useful to say. So I'll just share a few pictures of him instead:

Tadeo

Tadeo

Tadeo and Romeo

I'll just mention that the first two photos are at ISO 6400: softness in his body fur is due to noise reduction which smudges details. But, to me, it's still scary good over my D300.

(Shot with the Nikon D600 with the 50mm f/1.8 and 70-200mm VR zoom.)

    1. tadeo and romeo are both wondeful galgos. tadeo often kept his eyes on me from a distance. a little leery, i think, since i'm a total stranger to him. but he had no problem walking up to me to get a dog treat. he's a handsome boy.

  2. Those photos are fantastic!

I think words fail all of us today.

    1. tadeo looked very different while inside the house since both ears were forward. usually his right ear is up and the left ear is forward. early in the session the dogs were in the backyard barking at squirrels that walked overhead. i was hoping to get a few shots of him -- he really fixated on them.

  3. If you hadn't said ISO 6400, I would've never known. Full-frame upgrade was definitely worth it. Beautiful boy.

    1. full-frame is nice, i agree, but i was equally impressed with the low-noise, high-ISO performance of the d7000, too. the newer models are so much better in reducing noise than my d300. i just tried to avoid situations where i was sure there would be a lot of noise when i carried my d300 with me.

  4. he is that, certainly. he's also a busy boy (there was a squirrel that got his attention, and who walked across telephone wires strung above the backyard fences), so i waited for him to settle before i tried getting a picture or two. you can sense a bit of wariness on his part about me as this was early in the session.
