A friend of mine walking the greyhound of a mutual friend of ours paused a few moments to take in the dawn twilight at Dewey Beach this past October.
I'm a sucker for the rich blueness of twilight that happens about 35 minutes or so before sunrise and after sunset.
(Shot with the Nikon D300 using the 18-200mm zoom set at 18mm; program mode chose 1/15 sec @ f/3.5; ISO 800; auto white balance; normal JPG.)
What a lovely, serene photo. Is the whole curved effect from the horizon up a natural phenomenon?
ReplyDeleteI like your new, lighter blog design:)
Wonderful picture.
ReplyDeleteI love sunsets at the beach, but haven't managed a decent dog shot yet.
@Greyhounds CAN Sit: no, it's called "i'm-too-bloody-lazy-to-apply-a-lens-profile-to-correct-lens-distortion". :P the image is straight out of the camera -- i've not tampered with it in any way.
ReplyDeletepetra, is there something wrong in that i flew to delaware to get this shot but i have nothing like this of our dogs considering where i live? :P
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the pictures we've gotten on the beach at Dewey every year. There's just something magical about it! I agree with you about the light there at sunset, too. (I am too lazy to know about the light there before sunrise!) It was like something painted the sky there. I just love that shot you got!
ReplyDeleteLol, your laziness created an awesome effect:)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture! I cannot wait to get back to Dewey Beach.
