    it's a shedding blade seen edge-wise. i was hoping the shutter speed was fast enough to freeze katie but slow enough to show the blade moving. it wasn't slow enough.

    I'm glad you explained what the 'thing' is ... I thought it looked like a thing for lighting gas burners and was wondering why on earth Katie looks so pleased, lol!

    a friend of mine on GT said exactly the same thing about it looking like a butane lighter for barbeque grills. :)
