Andrew (2000 - 2013)

"...He took my heart and ran with it, and he's running still, fast and strong, a piece of my heart bound up with his, forever."

-- Excerpt from For The Love Of A Dog by Patricia McConnell

Photograph of Andrew taken during his photo session with me at Royal Copenhagen Inn, Solvang, CA, at the Solvang Greyhound Fest in February, 2013.

    1. it's getting harder for me to accept that these dogs are going one-by-one. they're not even my dogs, and yet when they go i feel like a part of me goes as well.

  2. Lovely quote, it's true of all our own dogs and often many others we meet in our life journey. Happy trails Andrew.

    1. this picture was very early on in the session, so i was still trying to get acquainted with andy and see what he would and would not tolerate. while it's nice to catch them in action, other times it's best just to let them be and be happy with capturing that.

  3. It is always so sad to see another one of our greyhound friends pass. I was fortunate to have our group's very first adoptee and our group is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. We are getting to the point where our dogs are aging and it is very sad when you hear of their passing. It's lovely that the greyhound community seems to be so close, but also hard for everyone when one goes to the bridge.

  4. That quote is so perfect! You captured him beautifully for someone to remember him! They're never with us long enough. *sigh*
