The blueness of the sky surprised me when I first saw the picture. I added a bit of Clarity and Vibrance in Lightroom to strengthen the midtones, but left everything else alone.
But I couldn't help myself wondering how this picture might look in black-and-white so I applied the low-contrast Lightroom preset and I got this:

I actually tried a couple of other presets before settling with this one. I think it came out okay but I don't have a good feel for black-and-white yet.

I love the blue sky! Beautiful picture of Axel. I hope we get to see Charlie too.
ReplyDeleteHe's a gorgeous dog! I loved that vivid blue sky, and I have to admit that I miss it. It's not quite the same as what we have around here.

The red leash is a problem against the blue sky as it pops and distracts from seeing the true beauty which is the dog, not the leash. This is cured with BW. Consider editing out leash in color for more pleasant shot or turn in blue.

ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely blue sky and the golden sand is much nicer than the black stuff we get here ... but I'm not complaining, it's still a beach! Axel is very handsome:)
